Operation Christmas Cheer

for the Children of Brazoria County Soldiers

Operation Christmas Cheer has been started to give the children of Brazoria County Soldiers, a little more Christmas Cheer.  By providing Christmas Gifts and a party with Santa.  No child will be denied because they are a teenager.  This is for all Soldiers Children that are 0-18 years of age.

This is just a way to thank our American Hero's for their sacrifice to our Country.

This is the dream of a 18 year old Brazoswood High School Graduate, that wants to give back to our soldiers and their families.  Natasha Ruiz was a Cadet Lt. Col. in the Air Force Junior ROTC Program located at Brazoswood High School and she was Commander of the Corps for the Spring Semester of the 2008-2009 school year.  This is just her way for the Community to say Thank You for your Service. This program was started last year while she was a Senior in High School.

Vision Statement:

To collect donations to provide Christmas Gifts to Brazoria County Soldiers Children.  To try and bring a little extra Christmas Cheer to them.  We want to show these Families that they are cared about by the community.  We want to provide at least one item on their wish list and then give them other gifts and a stocking with candy and stuffers.  This will not be limited to children under 13, as we want to provide for all military children.

How to Accomplish this Goal:

We will contact groups such as Military Moms and Wives of Brazoria County, Brazoria County Calvary and the West of the Brazos Military Support Group, along with the VFW's, American Legion Posts, The National Guard Armory in Angleton, and we will place an Ad in the Facts Newspaper.

We are starting to ask for donations so that we can raise funds for this program as we expect to have more children than we had last year.

Last year Operation Christmas Cheer provided Christmas gifts for 26 children ranging in ages from 2 months to 17 years old.  Check out the photo gallery to see photos from the party.  The Party was held on December 13th, 2008 at Brazoswood High School.

We have a Motorcycle fundraiser ride set up for October 24th, 2009 and we are going to have a fish and shrimp fry along with a live Auction and Raffle.  Please come out and support this effort.  Time and location will be announced shortly.
